Every so often I will get an email from someone saying that they don’t want to comment on my blog because it requires they give an email address, which I always find humorous, that someone would email me to let me know they don’t want to give me their email.
The reason I require an email to comment is to try to maintain some kind of control over the hundreds of spam comments I get every week. Even with that restriction (and others) I have to sort through 20-30 of them a day.
I am not collecting email addresses or selling them to anyone. They are never publicly displayed. If you get on a junk email list it won’t be because of me.
Can you keep a secret? If so come closer…
You don’t even need to use a real email address because they are not verified. As long as it LOOKS like a real email account it will work to leave comments on this site.
If you are a long time reader of my blog you’ve probably noticed the lack of guns and shooting posts in the last year or so. The fact is that there hasn’t been much to post about. I haven’t even bought a gun in over 18 months. There’s very little that I want and certainly nothing I need. I’m full up.
My only major purchase in that time has been a scope. I bought a Trijicon Accupoint for one of my rifles. Someday I hope to mount the scope and sight it in. I also got an AR-15 receiver as a Christmas gift that I’m planning to make into a pistol, at some point. If I ever finish either project I will post a review for you.
As for shooting I have been a few times this year. I usually take the same gun, my carry gun, so I’d only be rerunning previous posts if I bothered to post about it.
For the aforementioned reasons gun postings will be light for the foreseeable future.
Welcome aboard. I do hope you like the new home of wilsonblog where it will be business as usual, with posts on my varied interests such as guns, photography, history and my fiction. I’ve got plenty of room to grow so I expect to be here for a long time to come.
